Empowering leadership, strengthening teams

I’m Nina Mrugalla – systemic consultant and founder of Mrugalla Consulting. After holding leadership positions in HR and organizational development at Phoenix Contact and FIEGE, I now advise companies externally. My focus: empowering teams, enabling effective leadership, and anchoring sustainable change – with experience and a keen eye for the potential in people and organisations.

My journey has taken me from senior HR and organizational development roles in industry, logistics, and automotive to independent consulting. Along the way, I’ve seen firsthand how modern leadership, an open learning culture, and a clear sense of purpose can drive organizations forward.

Whether as Senior Director People & Culture at Phoenix Contact, project lead at FIEGE, or through Mrugalla Consulting: I’m inspired by what becomes possible when teams take ownership, leadership is effective, and change becomes part of everyday life.   • Leadership development & career paths: Developed and expanded career path models; introduced and rolled out 360° feedback as a central tool for leadership feedback and targeted development.
  • Cultural transformation: Established the Great Place to Work® employee survey as a strategic element of a comprehensive culture transformation initiative.
  • Strategic leadership tools: Designed and implemented a company-wide goal map as a key leadership instrument.
  • Global work and learning culture: Built a global leadership framework and initiated international programs that actively incorporate knowledge and perspectives from all regions.
  • Personnel and organizational development: Oversaw the development of a global business unit and the spin-off of a start-up in the field of electromobility—from organizational structure and leadership development to the implementation of new processes and structures.
  • Global talent management & employer branding: Established a global competency model, developed talent programs, and implemented systematic onboarding for leaders and new employees.
  • Purpose-driven company: Co-developed and rolled out a company-wide purpose globally through workshops and keynote presentations.
  • Apprenticeship & dual study programs: Strategically realigned apprenticeship and dual study programs to address technological change, generational shifts, and evolving business needs.

Consulting experience

As a consultant, I support companies across a wide range of industries – from start-ups and medium-sized businesses to international corporations and the public sector. My main focus is guiding leaders and teams through change processes, developing new roles and models of collaboration, and introducing new ways of working and key competencies. Innovative feedback tools – such as the Lead-O-Meter at FIEGE or 360° feedback – help to make leadership culture measurable and drive its ongoing development.
